September with the Herrera's

During the month of September we were able to feed over 700 kids. Here in Costa Rica September is a special month. It is not only their independence Day, September 15, they also celebrate kids day. September 9th is Kid's Day here. So we wanted to do something extra special. We invited the kids for the "special" kid's day at the church in La Carpio. We anticipated 150 kids. We had over 200 show up. We couldn't even fit them all in, but we did our best and squeezed kids in everywhere. We had some special songs prepared, dramas/skits, a puppet show, sno-cones and a bag of goodies for each kid. It was a hit. We were also invited to make an activity for the kids at our church in Birri too. We had 43 kids attend. Praise the Lord! That is a lot for our church.

The kids were all blessed and we were blessed to be apart of it all.

I will sing of the Lord's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. Psalms 89:1
We love to get the kids involved with singing and praising the Lord.

Dylon poses with a little Costa Rican girl, Maria. They both celebrated independence Day in the park.

Some typical dancers in the Heredia park.

What handsome boys. Praise God for Ticos (that is what they call Costa Ricans) and independence!

Jesus said, "let the little children come to me, and do not hider them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these". Matthew 19:14
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6 We like to start them out young in the ministry here.

We hosted the youth group from our church in Birri at our house Sept. 22. We had over 35 youth attend. If you have ever been to our church, which several of you have, you would know that 37 youth is a lot. Here are 2 of them that are on our team helping us "making smiles".
