August with the Herrera's

This is our third month in this new place called "La Carpio". We can't help but think where all of the its from "La Candela" are now. We can only hope and pray that they are in a safe place where there is someone there to help them and guide them. We pray that the seeds that were planned in their lives and hearts for over 3 years will not be plucked out. I hope that they are being cared for.

We left La Candela not knowing what we were in store for here in "La Carpio". We have been welcomed with open arms. The kid's hearts were hard and they really didn't open up to us as quickly as we had hoped. That has all changed. The kids here are really starting to open up. They are even coming up and asking if they can help with things like pouring drinks, carrying things in from the car, helping to set up and clean up afterwards. We had 2 precious young kids ask to help serve too. Monica and Gabriel (nice name!) served over 150 drinks.
